What is email tracking?
E-mail tracking is the process of monitoring the transit of emails to intended recipients and also recording how the email was dealt with. Email tracking can track and log email sends, email receipt, email open and click through from email to website. Once the recipient clicks through from the email to the website, landing page or microsite, specific functions can come into play to track the visitor's complete interaction with the website including pages visited, time spent on each page, exit pages, links clicked and calls to actions completed.

Always remember that email tracking will not work in the same way for plain text emails. To ensure you get the best results for your email marketing campaigns make sure your calls to action are clear enough and persuasive enough to provoke a click through. Once the visitor is on the landing pages/website they can be tracked and coverted more easily.
